Health Care Reform Update: Understanding ACO's, MSC's, and the Section 1115 Waiver

Harry Nelson will be the featured speaker at the quarterly meeting of “Hot Topics in Health Care,” a group of approximately 200 representatives of Brotman Medical Center and Alta Hospitals Group, Los Angeles Community Hospital, Norwalk Community Hospital, Hollywood Community Hospital, Van Nuys Community Hospital, and representatives of local skilled nursing, sub-acute and  residential care facilities in Long Beach and the surrounding communities.

The talk will focus on understanding Accountable Care Organizations (ACO's) and Managed Systems of Care (MSC's), recent local progress in the development of these healthcare reform-driven models of service delivery, as well as the implications of the recent implementation of the Section 1115 waiver and the mandated transition of senior and disabled Medi-Cal beneficiaries into the managed care environment.  The event will also include a panel discussion with Dr. Shariar Jarchi of Housecall MD and Jeff Davis of Brand New Day HMO.
