Pro Bono/Community
Fenton Nelson is deeply committed to provision of pro bono legal services. We believe it is our professional responsibility as attorneys to ensure access to legal services to those who would otherwise not have it.
Community-based non-profit groups regularly contact our attorneys to provide healthcare-specific pro bono assistance to clients in need. We review projects on a case-by-case basis to determine if the need, our expertise, and available firm resources align. Among other non-profit recipients, we have provided pro bono services at the request of the Disability Rights Legal Center of Loyola Law School, the Jewish Hospice Project-Los Angeles (JHPLA), and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Among other causes, we have undertaken numerous projects to protect patient privacy and medical records privacy against unduly invasive government action.
In addition to pro bono projects, our attorneys devote extensive time to both civic, charitable, religious and educational organizations and national, state and local bar associations. Among other organizations, our attorneys are active participants in the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA) and the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA).
